2 cups of naturally sweet apple peeled, cored and diced into small cubes
2 cups of ripe pears, peeled, cored and diced into small cubes
½ cup of water
Directions
Peel and core the apples and pears and cut into small cubes;
Use the steaming function on your steamer blender, and steam the fruit for approximately 6 - 8 minutes or until soft;
Take out the basket(s) and remove the water (keep water to one side);
Place the soft apple and pear into the jug and blend, adding small amounts of water until the desired consistency is reached (remember smooth for younger babies,and leave more coarse for older babies);
Apples and pears are both high in fibre and Vitamin C, and are cholesterol and fat free. Vitamin C is essential for your baby to build a strong immune system, as well as having strong bones and teeth. Fibre helps to keep your child regular, and prevents blood sugar spikes which could trigger diabetes, or increase the risks of nappy rash.
