This kiwi and banana puree for baby is packed full of flavour. This no-cook recipe is simple to make and the tartness of the kiwi fruit combines well with the sweetness of the banana. We’re sure this will be a firm favourite!
2 kiwi fruits peeled and roughly chopped
1 – 2 ripe bananas (depending on size), peeled and roughly chopped
Peel and roughly chop the ripe banana(s);
Peel and roughly chop the kiwi fruit;
Place the chopped kiwi and banana into the jug of your steamer blender and blend until you reach a smooth, lump-free consistency;
Portion into reusable baby food pouches;
Serve with a food pouch spoon or spout!
Use immediately or freeze for a minmium of 24 hours. Can be kept frozen for a maximum of 3 months.
Bananas are rich in potassium, vitamins B6, C and B2, contain calcium and iron, and no cholesterol or sodium. Kiwi fruit is rich in vitamin C, Vitamin K, Vitamin E, folate and potassium. It also has a lot of antioxidants and fibre making it an excellent food for growing babies.
When?
Babies are recommended to start on solids around 6 months and not before 4 months. Make sure your baby is showing signs they are ready for solids and that you introduce one food at a time initially, after that you are welcome to mix other fruits or veggies with this recipe!
